About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our team in Bega NSW. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting positive placements within the region and promoting the safety, development, and empowerment of vulnerable children and families.
Job Description
As a Child Protection Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to work dynamically across the child protection spectrum, from family preservation, permanency support, restoration, and adoption. You will work closely with families, children, and young people to provide individualised support and guidance, helping them navigate complex challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Diploma in Social Sciences/Social Welfare or equivalent qualification;
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families;
- Sound interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills;
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a high-performing team;
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks;
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills;
- Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues, and the NSW Child Protection system;
- Current driver's licence.
Estimated Salary
$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
