Electoral Commissioner Leadership Opportunity

This is a rare key leadership position where integrity, impartiality and transparency are paramount. Our client, the Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA) is an independent statutory agency of the South Australian Government responsible for conducting and administering parliamentary and non-parliamentary elections within the state.

ECSA's responsibilities include state and by-elections, local council periodic and supplementary elections, first nations voice to parliament elections and elections for statutory authorities and commercial elections. Additionally, ECSA provides community awareness and education programs that inform South Australians about the electoral system.

A senior leader is sought to bring exceptional leadership skills to drive the strategic direction of the organisation. Reporting to the Electoral Commissioner, the appointee will be responsible for implementing organisational change across various disciplines, providing executive leadership and management in delivering complex statewide electoral events and operational activities, as well as building and maintaining strategic relationships with government and non-government organisations.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication skills, experience leading a complex organisation at an executive level and a relevant tertiary qualification in business, public administration or law. The ideal candidate will also have a proven ability to operate with the highest levels of ethical behaviour, honesty, integrity and respect.

In the absence of the Electoral Commissioner, the Deputy Electoral Commissioner will exercise all delegated powers. This is a full-time employment opportunity with a competitive remuneration package.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience leading a complex organisation at an executive level
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, public administration or law
