About the Drilling and Blasting Team

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Shotfirer to achieve daily drilling and blasting objectives in a safe and efficient manner.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Marking out, priming, loading, stemming, and performing all necessary tasks to support the shot-firer.
  • E nsuring the safe use, storage, security, transport, and handling of explosives on the project site in accordance with statutory and company procedural requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate records to required standards.
  • Ensuring high-level housekeeping in magazines, magazine compounds, explosive vehicles, and work areas.
  • Operating ancillary equipment such as stemming loaders.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful, you must demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A valid Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
  • Senior First Aid certification.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening.
  • Two professional references from most recent employers.
