Clinical psychologists play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, particularly those in rural and remote areas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team delivering services via telehealth, collaborating with parents, carers, and school staff to support students' needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver clinical psychology services to schools and preschools, including individual therapy via telehealth, case management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to assessment services, group therapy, and professional development for school staff, promoting positive outcomes for students and enhancing teacher capacity.
- Engage in community visits to build relationships with clients, families, and education staff, ensuring effective service delivery and cultural responsiveness.
- Participate in multidisciplinary activities, supervision, and training opportunities, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Utilize digital tools and maintain high-quality communication to ensure seamless service delivery and client engagement.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Accredited postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology with full registration with the relevant governing body.
- Experience in pediatric psychological assessment and diagnosis, administration of standardised assessments, and managing diverse caseloads with complex needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of child safety practices, legislation, and family-centred care principles, with a commitment to working effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and Indigenous communities.
- Proficiency in digital tools and telehealth platforms to deliver services remotely.
