The Job Description

As a Design Assistant for our Menswear team, you will play a crucial role in developing range concepts and ensuring the quality of apparel throughout the development and production stages. Your responsibilities will include working closely with the design team, attending fittings, selecting trims, sourcing fabrics, and conceptualizing storyboards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Menswear team to develop innovative range concepts
  • Attend critical fitting sessions to ensure style development continuity
  • Participate in all fit meetings and associated discussions impacting range development
  • Select high-quality trims aligned with the brand's aesthetic and values
  • Source and execute creative work for pre-sell or sell presentations
  • Develop monthly storyboards showcasing mood and color themes
  • Liaise with suppliers to monitor fabric development, availability, lead-time, and costs

The Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textiles
  • Experience with illustration software packages
  • A proven track record in a similar design-led role within a fashion business
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well in a team environment
