Senior Data Centre Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Centre Technician to join our team at NEXTDC. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality technical maintenance and customer service to support the day-to-day operations of the data centre.
- Assess and mitigate risks related to OH&S, security, and facility technical operations to ensure customer services and business operations operate within approved risk profiles.
- Integrate and coordinate with NEXTDC Facilities to ensure seamless operations of critical support systems, power monitoring, and rack locking.
- Assist with customer deliveries, handling equipment, and assembly as required.
- Mentor and support up to 6 direct reports to strive for continual improvement and professional development.
- Monitor critical systems through Building Management Systems, diagnose failures, and escalate as required.
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role in a colocation facility or data centre.
- Experience in the use of test equipment to determine signal strength and traffic direction to diagnose communication quality and faults.
- OTDR competency to measure loss over network links.
- Experience with installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining fibre optic for customers.
- Experience using a Building Management System and able to identify various critical systems.
