Our school is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing facilities and ensuring they are well maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Responsible for all preventive, routine, scheduled, and emergency maintenance, including works such as electrical, plumbing, and painting.
  • Planned Maintenance: Works closely with the Business Manager and Principal to schedule and carry out planned maintenance to facilities and grounds.
  • Record Keeping: Ensures all works are recorded and processed as required using AIMS.
  • Daily Tasks: Takes a hands-on role in performing daily maintenance tasks, including removal of graffiti, emergency maintenance, cleaning, and deliveries.
  • Service Requests: Responds to service requests from staff for breakdowns and repairs, maintaining records of such requests.
  • Renewal Needs: Identifies, reports, and advises on major furniture, fixture, and equipment renewal needs.
  • Procurement: Coordinates the collection of quotes in accordance with DET procurement policy.
  • School Events: Assists with the staging of school events, ensuring equipment and furniture relocation and facilities meet the needs of the school.
  • Furniture Relocation: Responds to requests from staff to assist with the moving of furniture and other items around the school.
  • Building and Grounds Committee: Acts as an active member of the Building and Grounds Sub-Committee.
  • Security Monitoring: Regularly monitors school security, including open windows, unlocked doors, and vandalism.
  • OHS Nominee: Manages the OHS process of engaging contractors, including site-specific OHS induction and information, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
Requirements
  • Aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role.
  • Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position, including the use of AIMS.
  • Demonstrated high standards and commitment to ensure our school is well maintained to high standards.
