Key Responsibilities:

The role of a Fund Accountant involves direct engagement with clients, ensuring the precise and prompt delivery of client reports in line with service level agreements (SLAs). Responsibilities include:

  • Unit Pricing
  • Preparation of month-end report packages
  • Calculating distributions
  • Taxable income calculations and managing BAS/GST after report verification

Additionally, the position requires significant collaboration across departments, with responsibilities including:

  • Addressing and resolving ad hoc inquiries.
  • Evaluating and adhering to operational risk and compliance standards during work preparation.
  • Maintaining essential compliance documentation.

The Fund Accountant plays a vital role in fostering and maintaining client relationships by supporting Account Managers, Client Services Managers, and the wider team through:

  • Engagement in on-the-job training and professional development.
  • Staying informed about policy and regulatory changes.
  • Ensuring ongoing technical proficiency through continuous education or participation in industry forums.

Required Technical Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in fund accounting and/or unit pricing.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services sector, including Funds, Operations, Fund Accounting, Reporting, and Custody.
  • Comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge of investment products such as Unit Trusts, Gross Income Funds, and Superannuation Schemes.
  • Experience in client reporting and managing client inquiries while meeting SLAs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
