Public Area Attendant Job Description

This role is part of a dynamic team that maintains the cleanliness and organization of public areas within a luxury hotel. The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for ensuring that all spaces are well-maintained, clean, and tidy at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean public and employee restrooms and showers.
  • Clean glass in public and employee areas.
  • Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned area.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages.
  • Clean and maintain lights.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • The ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance.
  • The ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods across an entire work shift.
