Therapeutic Care Specialist

This is a varied role in residential care, offering the opportunity to continue learning and growing while delivering high-quality therapeutic care to young people.

About the Position

We are seeking passionate and motivated individuals who can work therapeutically with young people with complex needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, the ability to maintain professional boundaries, and a strong understanding of how to work with young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting young people with complex needs in a residential setting to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with young people, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Working therapeutically with young people to address their individual needs and promote overall well-being.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports as required to ensure transparency and accountability.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and Out of Home Care) or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Experience working in residential care or a related field, with a strong focus on therapeutic care and support.
  • Strong understanding of adolescent and child development, trauma and attachment theories, and crisis intervention principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
