**Indigo Junction is a values driven not for profit organisation providing support to youth, families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.**

We are seeking casual based, experienced, committed and motivated Youth Workers to cover a range of shifts to provide an intensive therapeutic 24x7model of care for young people who have experienced complex trauma. The young people entering this service need dedicated people to support them in building individual capacity, resilience, and sense of self. **The key objectives of this position are**:

- To provide supported 24x7accommodation and related therapeutic support services for young people who are under the care of Department of Communities: Child Protection who have experienced complex trauma;
- To ensure the young person is safe, supported and increase their knowledge and confidence to reduce the likelihood of future crises;
- To support young people towards more independent living by empowering them with life skills;
- To work within a multidisciplinary team to support the young person in meeting their care plan goals;
- To ensure client outcomes are optimised through the connection to relevant community service
- A tertiary qualification (desired) in a relevant human services area and at least 3 years appropriate experience; or demonstrated equivalent;
- Sound understanding of the principles of Trauma Informed Care;
- Experience and demonstrated competence in working with young people in crisis;
- A commitment to the notion of empowerment and self-determination;
- Experience in responding to alcohol and drug problems;
- Experience in responding to young people with complex care needs;
- Experience to responding to young people with complex mental health needs;
- Experience in working with young people with disabilities;
- Case management experience with an understanding of professional boundaries in relation to client work;
- Experience working with working with multidisciplinary teams and other stakeholders;
- Experience in providing advocacy and referrals for young people;
- Knowledge of community and government resources;
- Cultural competency and experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds;
- This role will include weekend, shift and night work to ensure full coverage of our facility.
