Lead Technical Project Manager

  • A key technical project management role, accountable for the delivery of a large and complex project in accordance with the requirements set out in the contract.
Responsibilities:">
  • Define, develop and implement project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, resource allocation and risk management plans to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to project team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to execute their roles effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers and internal teams, to ensure that project needs are understood and met.
  • Identify, assess, prioritize and manage project risks, ensuring that all appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented to minimize any negative impacts on the project.
  • Manage and mitigate project issues as they arise, working collaboratively with stakeholders to find resolutions and ensure project continuity.
  • Ensure that the project is executed in compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, and that all applicable quality and safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Lead, motivate and direct the project team to achieve project objectives, whilst fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment that promotes open communication and innovation.
  • Make informed decisions based on data analysis and business acumen, using metrics and other performance indicators to measure project success.
  • Monitor and report on project progress against planned milestones, providing timely and actionable insights to stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Conduct lessons learned reviews at the end of each project phase or milestone, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies and best practices in technical project management, staying ahead of emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and forums, presenting project status updates and communicating the value proposition of the project to stakeholders.
Qualifications:">
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Strong technical expertise and experience in system engineering principles, lifecycle management, systems engineering management plan and verification and validation plan.
  • Ability to integrate specialty engineering disciplines into the systems engineering framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse multidisciplinary and geographically diverse team, promoting service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Experience in delivering projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded.
  • Willingness to travel interstate as required.
Requirements:">
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in complex technical development and integration projects.
  • Relevant degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Professional certifications in technical project management, such as PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile PM.
