Senior Mechanical HVAC Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Integrated Project Services. As a key member of our MEP team, you will be responsible for designing and developing energy-efficient, compliant, and sustainable mechanical systems for our clients in the life sciences industry.
Key Responsibilities- Assess project requirements and develop comprehensive design solutions for HVAC, black utilities, public health services, and building management systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to determine scope of work, budget, and staffing for mechanical design projects.
- Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze the operation of existing systems.
- Work with code officials and other design professionals to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Assign and review work of project design teams, checking progress and alerting project managers to changes in scope or additional services.
- Coordinate project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
- Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.
- Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as a resource for design questions.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent.
- 10+ years of design engineering experience, with a strong understanding of HVAC system design and experience with central utilities, including steam systems.
- Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering design programs.
- Progressive ability to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate technical work, and to obtain cooperation from others.
- Sufficient technical proficiency in mechanical design to understand project requirements and apply the appropriate resources and execution approach for a successful project.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with creativity and innovation in continually improving solutions, tools, methods, and service delivery systems.
- Experience in fire protection and plumbing design.
- Mechanical designation in Australia.
- Experience in designing BioPharm facilities and associated utilities for the cGMP production of biological and pharmaceutical drugs.
