Our company is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in delivering and maintaining data assets, improving data quality, and driving business outcomes.


About the Role:

  • Lead strategy for automated data supply chains, combining and enriching data for business insights
  • Develop and implement solutions for bulk data movement, batch processing, and real-time data streaming
  • Provide technical leadership and influence to drive team performance, bringing new techniques and ways of working to the team as needed
  • Mentor and coach junior Data Engineers to improve effectiveness and quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology and Risk, to deliver innovative solutions that improve customer outcomes
  • Support Data Engineering ways of working, including automated testing, CI, and CD
  • Define complex and innovative technical solutions to business problems, considering group synergies and commercial realities


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7-8 years of experience in data engineering with strong skills in developing and optimising data applications, particularly with Pentaho
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions for bulk data movement, batch processing, and real-time data streaming
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write performant queries, troubleshoot issues, and mentor others
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git and Bitbucket, and developer utilities to create CI and test pipelines
  • Ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of complex business problems and requirements to develop effective solutions
