Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and cook meals for residents, ensuring they meet dietary requirements and are presented in a visually appealing manner.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise and participate in cooking and baking, maintaining high standards of preparation to minimize nutritional losses and avoid bacterial hazards.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure the day-to-day purchase, delivery, storage, and presentation of food and drink for residents are completed within prescribed standards and preferences.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure all aspects of the kitchen are thoroughly cleaned before and after food preparation, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Quality Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve services, ensuring our residents receive meals of the highest quality.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery: Hold a Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery, with a Food Safety Supervisors certificate desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Possess exceptional communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders, including residents, staff, and management.
  • Resident-Centric Mindset: Demonstrate a resident-centric mindset, ensuring all aspects of work flow through to the care and well-being of our residents.
  • Continuous Learning: Be willing to learn and develop new skills, with a desire to continuously improve and grow as a professional.
