Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate will work on a rotating 7.6 hour roster between 7:00am and 7:00pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime on weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend daily briefings and meetings to stay informed about the team's activities and objectives.
  • Use Defence Computer or Paper Bases System to read and advise on customer booking enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the smooth facilitation of movement onto and off the Range area by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular Range maintenance as allocated by management to ensure the facility remains safe and operational.
  • Be an active member of the Fire Response Team, responding promptly to emergencies and contributing to a culture of safety.
Requirements
  • Australian citizenship is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in Training Area and Range operations is highly regarded but not essential for consideration.
  • Applicants must hold a current MR (or higher) license upon commencement.
  • Experience with operating radios is highly valued and can be a competitive advantage.
  • Successful candidates must have or be capable of attaining a workplace First Aid qualification to National Certificate Level 2 standard.
  • They must also have or be capable of attaining current operator licenses for all Range vehicles and equipment.
  • Furthermore, applicants must have or be capable of attaining Fire Qualifications in Wildfire Response and Suppression.
  • Excellent communication skills, the ability to work autonomously, and a willingness to offer support and assistance to other trades and apprentices are essential qualities.
  • Candidates should possess resilience, a 'can-do' attitude, and adaptability to thrive in this role.
  • Adherence to a Zero Harm culture is paramount, with a strong emphasis on ensuring safety is always the top priority.
