Senior Fitter - Equipment Maintenance Specialist
As a Senior Fitter - Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for mentoring and leading a dedicated team of fitters in the maintenance and repair of various equipment. Your focus will be on ensuring that all rotating equipment is properly maintained and serviced, with a specific emphasis on pumps and centrifuges. You will work closely with your team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical fitting and a proven track record of leadership. You will possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively train and mentor junior staff members. Additionally, you will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and be committed to maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair Weir products, including strip, assembly, and drawing amendments
  • Recommend improvements to products, services, and internal processes
  • Work safely and productively in workshop and onsite environments
  • Supervise and train fitters, ensuring high performance and quality of work while adhering to WMA policies and procedures
  • Conduct prestart checks and ensure work areas are safe and hazard-free
  • Assist the Manager in issuing service quotations and advising on assembly and inspection matters
