Family Preservation Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Family Preservation Practitioner. In this role, you will work closely with families to support them in achieving their goals and providing a safe environment for their children.

The position requires the incumbent to hold a relevant tertiary qualification, which may include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology or a related subject area. Candidates who are working towards their Bachelor degree or who hold a relevant Diploma qualification and have substantial experience, are encouraged to apply.

  • The role requires some flexibility from the incumbent as they may be required to work outside of the standard business hours but within 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, subject to the needs of our clients and the program.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting families to address key child development issues relating to young parents and their families who have complex needs.
  • Working with families to develop and implement plans to prevent at-risk children entering or re-entering care.
  • Providing assessment and intervention services to support families in achieving their goals.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology or a related subject area.
  • Significant work experience in a relevant field supporting families and children.
  • An understanding of and demonstrated experience working with issues such as attachment, trauma, and intergenerational disadvantage.
Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate of $51 to $53.31 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 5.
  • Salary packaging – up to $18,550 per year reducing your taxable income.
  • Paid Training including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Sanctuary and Cultural Awareness training.
