Aboriginal Health Support Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aboriginal Identified Tackling Indigenous Smoking Support Officer to join our team at Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation.
This role is a key part of our Public Health Services Section, working to reduce the uptake of smoking and promote smoke-free spaces in Aboriginal communities within the Barkly region.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based resources and activities to support smoking cessation and promote healthy lifestyles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and coordinating community engagement activities and events
- Assisting in the delivery of regional smoking prevention campaigns and information sharing
- Supporting the development of sustainable and respectful networks with communities across the Barkly Region
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to promote and advocate for Anyinginyi and the TIS program
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
You will also need to possess:
- Minimum Cert. III in Aboriginal Health or equivalent
- Experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
