Squad Lead

This is a stimulating opportunity for an accomplished educator who prioritizes water safety and excels at working with diverse individuals. As a Squad Lead, you will have the chance to develop training programs that showcase progression for swimmers through levels and effectively guide a team of instructors.

About You

You should appreciate swimming, enjoy teaching children and adult athletes, and want to convey the skills and attributes of competitive swimming and water safety to others.

The Role

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students from diverse age groups, abilities, and needs. You will also be able to work efficiently independently and as a strong part of the team.

  • Effectively lead a team to develop the program and pathway to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations of the squad program within legislative guidelines.
  • Actively promote the squad program and participation in the affiliated Swimming Club.
  • Monitor progress of swimmers through the squad program and work with the Swimming and Water Safety program to identify talented swimmers and encourage participation in the squad program.
Essential Skills
  • Competitive Swimming/Competitive Strokes Qualification.
  • Bronze level Qualification (Desirable).
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current CPR Certificate.
  • Working with Vulnerable People.
  • National Police Check.
  • Previous experience and success in a comparable role.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
