About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced operator to maintain and upkeep fire breaks within our National Parks. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, be able to work autonomously or as part of a team, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fire breaks using tractors, slashing decks, and reach arms
  • Ensure work areas are safe and participate in daily risk assessments to mitigate any risks
  • Drive and maintain tractor and slashing deck equipment
  • Maintain and wear all personal protective equipment
  • Comply with operational responsibilities as outlined in our Handbook

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current VIC driver's license (desirable)
  • Ability to pass a police check
  • Ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Daily access to a smartphone

Additional Information:

  • A medium rigid VIC driver's license would be highly regarded
