Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and guidelines.

Key responsibilities include leading and managing environmental projects, conducting inspections, investigations, audits, and reporting under relevant environmental frameworks.

The role also involves analysing and managing environmental data to support strategic decision-making, delivering environmental training and inductions to various stakeholders, and maintaining the Environmental Management System to ISO 14001 standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental management within heavy industry or port settings.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing environmental aspects such as dust, water, and waste.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports and board papers.
