Teach with Passion and Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team. As a Secondary Science Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in Years 7-12.

  • In this role, you will teach senior and general Science, providing high-quality education and improving the learning culture for every student.
Key Accountabilities
  • Demonstrate servant leadership with staff, students, parents, and the wider community, setting a Christ-like example.
  • Understand and cater to diverse student needs, utilise knowledge of child and adolescent development, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the curriculum and teaching areas.
  • Plan and implement effective teaching and learning strategies, design engaging lesson plans, employ various teaching methods, and integrate a Christian perspective throughout content and teaching strategies.
  • Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments, foster a positive classroom environment, and promote a culture of respect and safety.
  • Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning, use assessment strategies to evaluate progress, and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Professional Engagement
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge, stay current with educational research and practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, communicate regularly with parents and carers about student progress, and contribute to the wider school community through participation in events and extracurricular activities.
Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care
  • Provide emotional and spiritual support to students, develop and implement programs that promote student wellbeing, and act as a mentor and role model for students.
Requirements
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ, actively attend local Church, and support the vision and practice of the College.
  • Knowledge of and deep commitment to child safety in an education setting, current Working with Children Check, and NESA registration as a Secondary Teacher.
  • Deep understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, thorough knowledge of curriculum content and pedagogy for secondary education, and knowledge of Christian education principles and values.
  • Experience in integrating faith and learning in the classroom, contributing to school-wide initiatives and community activities, and demonstrated skills and experience in working with people, adhering to principles and values, presenting and communicating information, applying expertise and technology, and planning and organising.
