**Job Overview**
Deakin University is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Training Specialist to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety of staff and students across the university.
**About the Role**
This position coordinates and supports the development, evaluation, and delivery of effective and engaging Health and Safety training that aligns with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislations, regulations, and standards. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to creating a safe work environment by developing and implementing comprehensive training programs.
**Key Responsibilities**
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Coordinating the development and ongoing evaluation of Health and Safety training for staff and students;
- Contributing to the delivery of Health and Safety training in collaboration with other members of the Health and Safety team;
- Developing Deakin's overarching Health and Safety Training framework, including a Training Needs Analysis to identify competency gaps and provide evidence-based recommendations;
- Establishing learning objectives that align with identified training needs and develop a comprehensive training plan outlining priority modules/topics, learning activities, and assessment methods;
- Contributing to the scheduling, coordination, and promotion of Health and Safety Training courses and programs across the university;
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A degree with subsequent relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety Training; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in Occupational Health and Safety, education, and training or other related disciplines;
- Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment (desirable);
- Working with Children's Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain.
