This position involves working collaboratively with women to provide contemporary evidence-based care, focusing on women and baby health. The role requires partnership with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfilling the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro North Health's values and commitments, achieving organizational goals and domains of practice.
- Maintaining current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position, adhering to professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice.
- Applying clinical midwifery expertise to deliver high-quality woman and baby-centered care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Developing individualized care plans in partnership with women for antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care, addressing women's health, sexual or reproductive health, preparation for parenthood, and childcare.
- Maintaining woman and baby safety, risk minimization, and safe work activities within the practice setting.
- Responding appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the woman and baby using comprehensive midwifery assessment and intervention skills.
