About the Role

This position involves working collaboratively with women to provide contemporary evidence-based care, focusing on women and baby health. The role requires partnership with the interprofessional healthcare team to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Fulfilling the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro North Health's values and commitments, achieving organizational goals and domains of practice.
  2. Maintaining current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position, adhering to professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice.
  3. Applying clinical midwifery expertise to deliver high-quality woman and baby-centered care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  4. Developing individualized care plans in partnership with women for antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care, addressing women's health, sexual or reproductive health, preparation for parenthood, and childcare.
  5. Maintaining woman and baby safety, risk minimization, and safe work activities within the practice setting.
  6. Responding appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the woman and baby using comprehensive midwifery assessment and intervention skills.
