\About the Role:
\We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our service, you will provide critical support to young people aged 12-25, helping them navigate mental health services and access timely support.
\Key Responsibilities:
\- Assess referrals and deliver brief therapeutic support to young people and their families\
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure young people receive the right care at the right time\
- Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed brief support and consultations\
- Complete clinical documentation and risk assessments\
- Facilitate connections to relevant services when young people are ineligible\
- Contribute to team culture, reflective practice, and program evaluation
Requirements:
\To be successful in this role, you will possess:
\- Tertiary qualifications in mental health, AOD, psychology, social work, youth work or a related field\
- Experience supporting young people in fast-paced clinical or community settings\
- Strong risk assessment, intake, and referral skills\
- The ability to engage and hold space for young people and their families during times of distress\
- A team-oriented mindset and strong written and verbal communication skills
