**Job Description:**

We are seeking a Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for implementing mental health prevention and promotion activities aimed at improving student well-being.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Deliver capability building and awareness raising activities for staff and/or students on key mental health issues affecting the school population.
  • Input into the development, implementation and evaluation of processes and strategies aimed at enhancing mental health prevention, promotion and early intervention.
  • Assess, conceptualise and analyse wellbeing issues, and provide evidence-based direct counselling support to clients with a range of mental health needs.
  • Coordinate supports for young people with complex needs including referrals to specialist services as appropriate.

**Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in mental health support and promotion.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff and families.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to develop and implement programs that promote student well-being.
