About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Analyst to join our team at Rio Tinto. As a key member of our Fixed Equipment (FE) category team, you will be responsible for undertaking detailed internal category and project spend analysis, as well as external global market/cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process large volumes of data efficiently and effectively
  • Create and publish reports/dashboards, suggesting improvements to data capture, interpretation, and presentation
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret spend data from SAP and other system sources, communicating findings to the FE team and business
  • Populate and update cost saving systems with team category initiatives
  • Capture, consolidate, and report on external market dynamics for multiple categories
  • Assist with tracking forecasted cost savings versus business unit actuals
  • Support Specialists and Manager with tender analysis and Excel-based cost modeling
  • Ensure governance and compliance with key Procurement documentation storage and file structure
  • Undertake detailed fact-based analysis for global category strategy development
  • Regularly report on cost savings, spend forecasts, supplier spend, business unit spend, and other performance indicators
About You
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-look up, cost model building, and formulas
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Strong problem-solving skills with quantitative thinking and analysis
  • Ability to communicate professionally and succinctly
  • Strong PowerPoint skills for clear and impactful presentation
  • SAP navigation and data capture skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and be a self-starter
