About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Project Planner to join our team for a major engineering construction project in Alice Springs. As a pivotal team member, your role will primarily focus on the initial setup of the project, based initially out of our Victoria Park head office. Subsequently, you will transition to a site-based position undertaking a 2:1 FIFO roster (ex any capital city) during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of a detailed execution schedule(s) based on the scope of works.
  • Comprehensive basis of schedule documents outlining schedule assumptions, construction sequencing, calendars, weather, resources, equipment, and critical path information.
  • Monitoring and updating key dates and sequencing of the schedule.
  • Development and management of schedules deliverables, including resource histograms, equipment histograms, procurement plans, quantity curves, and bedding forecasts.
  • Review planning and scheduling documentation and identify ambiguities, risks, and key issues to be considered by the project execution team.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in compiling major project plans and execution schedules on behalf of the Project.
  • Ensuring that appropriate planning and scheduling techniques and systems are implemented to meet the projects needs.
  • Working cooperatively with a team to accomplish project goals.
  • Ensuring that all project, engineering, and procurement planning and scheduling information is available to service construction needs.
  • Preparing planning/scheduling/cost control information into correspondence, forms, reports, or databases; preparing information for dissemination to other.
  • Establishing client relationships, making group presentations, and communicating effectively with site personnel.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with resources-related multi-discipline scopes and committed to a site-based role.
  • Previous experience using Primavera (P6) project planning tool.
  • Large-scale construction project experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Critical Path analysis and Extension of Time claims.
  • Strong statistical and analytical reporting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster interpersonal relationships across all levels.
  • You acquire a methodical approach, high attention to detail, and take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to contribute and influence continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing delivery methods for your project partners.
  • Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Ability to commit to a FIFO roster during the construction phase of the project.
