The role of a Head of Year is crucial in fostering strong connections among teachers, students, and parents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organise rosters and duties as required in the respective Year Level area
  • Effectively communicate with teachers, parents, and students
  • Plan and manage the Year Level programme, including wellbeing and QTAC meetings
  • Foster a collaborative culture within the Year Level which is focussed on improvement at both the College and cohort level
  • Coordinate and plan parent and student information evenings as required
  • Maintain a visible and active presence within Year Level classes throughout the school day
  • Work collaboratively to maintain the College's Behaviour Management Policies

As a key leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the physical, emotional, and academic wellbeing of all students in the cohort.

Requirements:
  • Strong pastoral experience supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, and development
  • Strong disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge in Mathematics, Science, or English
  • Experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programmes well regarded
  • Ability to effectively work and build meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Strong work ethics, reliability, interpersonal, and discretionary skills, coupled with a commitment to quality service delivery
  • Teacher registration or Working with Children blue card and First Aid certification
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks such as bending and lifting
