Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead the strategic design and delivery of capital works programs for the City of Hobart.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in capital works design and delivery, with experience in leading teams and managing budgets. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure that infrastructure projects are innovative, sustainable, and community-focused.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans to support sustainable outcomes aligned with community aspirations.
  • Provide informed, strategic advice that supports integrated decision making across the organisation.
  • Align work with strategic plans and budgets, delivering on the City Plan and Greater Hobart 2050.
  • Apply knowledge of the political, social, legal, and organisational context to all initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered building practitioner and/or Charted Engineer with Engineers Australia that can sign-off Council design.
  • Current Driver Licence.
