We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Assistant to provide exceptional customer service and support to our customers in our Port Melbourne store.

Haymes Paint has a rich history dating back to 1935 and has grown to become Australia's largest Australian made and owned manufacturer of premium brand paints, finishes, and protective coatings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing solutions and advice to both trade and retail customers
  • Taking orders in-store and by phone
  • Tinting paint products to customer requirements
  • Replenishing stock including 15L paint drums
  • Building strong relationships with repeat customers in store and fellow colleagues
  • Keeping up to date with the latest colour forecasts and product releases
  • Assisting with visual displays, store presentation and house keeping
  • Inventory control (Goods Receiving/Stock taking)
  • Complying with safe work practices

Key requirements include:

  • Strong communication and numeracy skills
  • A genuine desire to deliver outstanding service
  • Previous experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience with stock handling and merchandising
  • Point of Sale (POS) system knowledge or appropriate tech-savvy
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively unsupervised
  • Capacity to perform manual tasks including lifting of 15L cans of paint.
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft office and outlook
