About the Role

This is a vital position for our editorial business, ensuring financial discipline and providing clear, actionable financial insights to our newsrooms. As a strategic finance partner, you will directly support the creation of Australia's best journalism.

You will:

  • Manage and control the entire Editorial cost base, focusing on staff and content-related expenses.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for all editorial cost centers, aligning with strategic goals.
  • Provide insightful analysis on financial performance, identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and growth.
What You'll Bring
  • Previous experience in finance or commercial accounting, with a degree and/or a CA/CPA qualification.
  • Proven business partnering skills, including trust-building and translating financial concepts for non-finance teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, confident in liaising with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in core financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
  • Experience in media/publishing, managing staff costs, and using systems such as D365, TM1, SAP, or Tableau is ideal.
