Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to support a confidential Defence project. This is a full-time fixed term position for four months, based in Canberra. The successful candidate must be willing to upgrade their security clearance.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing and managing commercial strategies to support the tendering process. They will prepare and review Request for Tender (RFT) documentation to ensure compliance with Defence procurement requirements. Additionally, they will evaluate commercial aspects of bid responses, ensuring alignment with project goals and financial objectives.

This role requires strong knowledge of commercial management, contract negotiation, and procurement within a Defence setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in reviewing, interpreting, and assessing commercial and financial aspects of tender responses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage commercial strategies
  • Prepare and review RFT documentation
  • Evaluate commercial aspects of bid responses
  • Provide expert commercial advice
  • Manage commercial and contractual risks
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Experience in commercial management
  • Strong knowledge of Defence procurement frameworks
  • Ability to review and assess commercial and financial aspects of tender responses
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • An active NV1 security clearance
