Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team in a high-impact role.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a commercially-minded lawyer with broad in-house financial services experience, ready to navigate enterprise-wide legal issues.
The successful candidate will provide clear, commercially-focused legal advice across banking, corporate, and financial services matters, including contract negotiation and management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert legal guidance on complex regulatory landscapes and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Support board and governance functions, including advice on director duties, conflicts of interest, and statutory reporting
- Collaborate with business units on risk management and dispute resolution strategies
- Foster strong stakeholder engagement across senior leadership, regulators, and external counsel
Requirements & Experience:
- Admitted solicitor in NSW with at least 7–10 years' post-qualification experience in financial services, banking or corporate law
- Expertise in consumer and retail banking law, with an ability to manage a broad portfolio of legal issues (including employment, IP/IT procurement, and governance)
- Strong knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, including ASIC and APRA frameworks
- Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at executive and board level
- A collaborative, pragmatic, and commercially-minded approach to legal problem-solving
