Job Description

The Head of Department, Christian Development is a critical role that oversees the delivery and development of Christian Development curriculum across Years 7-12, with a focus on teaching and learning.

This leadership position requires an experienced educator who is passionate about Christian Development and has the ability to collaborate with staff to implement the school's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver curriculum for Christian Development across Years 7-12, including Stage 6 Studies of Religion.
  • Collaborate with the Christian Development/Chaplaincy team to support teaching and learning.
  • Work with staff to implement the school's mission and values, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to education.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience as a secondary school educator in teaching Christian Development Years 7-12 and Stage 6 Studies of Religion.
  • Theologically qualified at a Diploma level or higher, with a strong understanding of recent developments in senior secondary pedagogy.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Previous experience teaching International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP), with a strong understanding of global curricula.
  • Highly developed communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and students.
