**Job Title:** Senior Engineering Leader

**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Leader to join our team at News Corp Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and efficiency across multiple engineering teams, ensuring alignment with published standards.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engineering principles, standards, and guidelines.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and technical excellence within the engineering function.
  • Oversee and guide engineering functions to ensure alignment with standards and guidelines for project and operational delivery.
  • Provide input into evaluating performance and success measures for development teams and individuals.
  • Lead Digital governance groups to align on solving complex technical challenges.
  • Participate in communities of practice to align teams and introduce innovation.
  • Identify and develop strategies to address legacy elements of the stack and/or define future state.
  • Assist in attracting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent.
  • Build and mentor high-performing teams in fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.

**Requirements:

  • Proven track record in developing and leading strategy, including the ability to distil and articulate complex issues and remediation proposals.
  • Able to lead, mentor, and guide a wide and varied team.
  • Positive, pragmatic, and resilient individual with key attributes for success in the role.
  • Ability to build cross-team consensus on challenging issues.
  • Conduct intelligent business and technology conversations with Senior Leaders.
  • Curious with a continual improvement mindset, able to challenge norms and identify new opportunities.
  • Ability to drive consensus and tangible outcomes.

**What We Offer:

  • An estimated salary of $150,000 - $200,000 per annum.

**Location:** This role is based in Sydney, however, remote work options may be available.
