Key Role: Systems Engineering Expertise

Job Description:

A skilled and experienced systems engineer is sought to join our engineering group, providing technical expertise on nationally significant defence projects. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating technical risks, leading verification and validation efforts, engaging with stakeholders, and facilitating workshops to enhance systems safety.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks using proven systems engineering approaches throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead verification and validation efforts, ensuring user needs are captured and met through design and related activities.
  • Engage closely with project leadership and stakeholders to ensure technical compliance and support safety case submissions.
  • Facilitate workshops to identify risks and controls to enhance systems safety, reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) and human factors implementation in design and delivery.
  • Develop and implement technical management plans, systems architecture, configuration, and change management processes, and support integration and interfacing with external projects and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Key requirements for this role include Australian citizenship or eligibility for an Australian Defence security clearance, a Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree, and relevant experience within regulated industries. Desired skills and qualifications include systems engineering knowledge and experience, system safety and assurance experience, professional body membership, and experience with systems engineering tools.

  • Australian Citizenship and/or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence security clearance.
  • Bachelor of Engineering / Science Degree.
  • Experience within regulated industries / frameworks.
  • Systems engineering knowledge and experience.
  • System safety and assurance experience.
  • Professional body membership.
  • Experienced in the application of systems engineering tools.
