Blue Collar Workforce Development Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned workforce development professional to join our team in Perth. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end recruitment of skilled and semi-skilled laborers for a high-volume construction project.

  • This includes working across the recruitment lifecycle, collaborating with site managers and HR business partners to forecast and prioritize manpower requirements, and utilizing SAP SuccessFactors to manage job postings, candidate pipelines, interviews, offers, and onboarding processes.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of qualified candidates through job fairs, labor agencies, trade schools, and community outreach; screening resumes, conducting interviews, and assessing candidates' technical skills and site-readiness; and ensuring timely mobilization and demobilization of labor resources in coordination with project needs.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience), with 5+ years of experience in high-volume blue-collar recruitment, preferably in the construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors. Experience with SuccessFactors is highly regarded.

  • A strong understanding of labor markets, trade classifications, and union/non-union workforce dynamics is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills are required.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and multicultural environment is crucial.
  • Travel to project sites may be necessary.
