Paediatric Emergency Medicine Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical leader to join our Paediatric Emergency Department as a Director. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of providing high-quality patient care and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The Director will be responsible for leading the Paediatric Emergency Department, ensuring that we deliver exceptional care to our patients. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of departmental policies, managing staff performance, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have specialist qualifications in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, current AHPRA Specialist Registration, and at least 2-5 years of experience in management. They will also possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to motivate others.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and direct care in a dynamic paediatric emergency environment
  • Supervise and mentor junior and senior medical staff
  • Oversee quality assurance, governance, KPIs, and budget performance
  • Promote education, research, and simulation training initiatives
Requirements
  • Specialist qualification in Paediatric Emergency Medicine (FRACP and/or FACEM)
  • Current AHPRA Specialist Registration
  • 2-5 years of experience in management, such as Deputy Director
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Proficient in guiding teams through change and pursuing departmental excellence
