Job Title

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Public Amenity Enforcement Officer. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual who is passionate about creating a welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

The successful applicant will be responsible for detecting and enforcing breaches of local laws, focusing on waste and recycling issues. This includes engaging with members of the public, property owners, businesses, and tenants to achieve positive compliance outcomes using education, enforcement, and collaboration.

As a representative of the community, this officer will play a pivotal role in promoting exceptional customer service and creating a customer-centric culture.

Main Responsibilities
  • Detecting and enforcing breaches of local laws, focusing on waste and recycling issues
  • Engaging with stakeholders to achieve positive compliance outcomes
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to customer enquiries
Selection Criteria
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and values - Integrity, Courage, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with customers at all levels in a tactful and courteous manner
  • Proven skills in written communication, including the ability to prepare reports, statistical information, and recommendations for improvements
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Local Government (Regulatory Services) and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Sound computer skills, including ability to use databases and Microsoft Office range
  • Valid Australian Driver Licence
