Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Approvals Officer to join our team on a fixed-term flexible basis for 18 months, working up to 73.5 hours per fortnight. As an Approvals Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day administration of applications for works and activities on the State Road network.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Provide advice to customers on the application process and deal with them in a credible, friendly, professional, and timely manner.
- Provide administrative support to technical officers across the Transport Group to ensure the efficient processing of applications and enquiries within required timeframes.
- Review applications and prepare permits for sign off by statutory delegates.
- Ensure a working knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Policy, Legislation, and Approvals team to effectively manage the overall approvals workload.
As part of this role, you will also provide ad hoc/periodic support to the Manager, Policy, Legislation, and Approvals by:
- Main Tasks:
- Undertake testing of new and existing online application forms relating to approvals activities.
- Support the development and implementation of business improvements including compiling statistics to allow for reporting on approvals activity.
- Undertake special duties within your capabilities or for developmental purposes, including undertaking Transport Commission support tasks as directed.
