Job Title: Executive Manager, Policy

The role of the Executive Manager, Policy is to lead the independent validation team responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of prescriptive models used in various risk classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of analysts who are responsible for validating high-risk prescriptive calculators across all risk classes, including RWA calculations, Liquidity Coverage Ratio, and heuristic transaction monitoring tools.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality validation results within set deadlines and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the design and operating effectiveness of model risk policies owned by the Head of Model Risk.
  • Conduct annual reviews of model risk policies and ensure policy requirements are met by model owners, developers, and users.
  • Lead and manage controls owned by Model Risk and effectively communicate validation outcomes to calculation owners and approvers.
  • Establish strong relationships with calculation owners, developers, regulatory bodies, Finance, Credit Risk, Operational Risk, Compliance, internal and external audit teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of validation workflows.
  • Provide technical support and coaching to analysts and focus on building bench strength.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in finance and/or risk management, including managing broad scopes of responsibilities.
  • Excellent tertiary qualifications in finance, mathematics, engineering, or technology disciplines.
  • Clear understanding of regulatory requirements, particularly in capital and liquidity risk management.
  • Knowledge of financial crime regulations is an advantage.
  • Programming, modelling, or data science knowledge and model risk policy development experience are desirable.
