
Acute Medicine Leader

The position of Acute Medicine Leader is a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our healthcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a safe and effective service.
- Lead Clinical Acute Medical Services, promoting an integrated service within the hospital.
- Coordinate and perform the Acute Medical Ward in conjunction with Operations Manager to ensure service provision, patient assessment, care planning, care coordination, and continuing management in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
- Participate in and facilitate the promotion of research and evidence-based care as appropriate.
- Engage in relevant clinical network and stream activities, providing professional leadership for nursing Acute Medical Services.
- Drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of contemporary models of care, clinical practices, guidelines, and standards that ensure services delivered in the acute medical unit are appropriate, coordinated, safe, efficient, timely, and cost-effective.
About You:
- Registered Nurse authorised to practice by AHPRA.
- Postgraduate management qualifications or experience, or working towards.
- Nursing Unit Management or In-Charge experience in an acute/subacute facility and/or ambulatory setting and ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
- Ability to lead, develop, and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Financial and human resource management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to improving healthcare through quality improvement and evidence-based care.
