About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Environmental Management Lead, reporting to our Manager Environment.

As a key member of our capital delivery team, you will lead the delivery of environmental and planning advisory, governance, and assurance services.

You will work closely with our capital delivery teams to promote and facilitate leading practice in environmental management planning activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Instilling an appreciation of environmental management throughout Seqwater and supporting change to improve performance in environmental and planning services.
  • Leading and coordinating environmental activities in accordance with legislative obligations and supporting Seqwater to limit its impact on the natural environment and protect key environmental values.
  • Providing expert advice and support to project leaders, promoting and facilitating best practices in environmental management to ensure compliance with Seqwater's environmental obligations and fostering a culture of stewardship.
  • Partnering with the business to facilitate effective environmental risk management, enabling the development, implementation, and regular review of risk management strategies.
  • Coordinating and ensuring organisational visibility of project environmental approval status and regulator engagement, and driving alignment with Seqwater's IMS requirements.
  • Providing governance, audit, and assurance across the project portfolios with respect to environmental obligations and compliance.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environment Management, Engineering, or Planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable experience in State and Commonwealth approval processes for major projects.
  • Experience in establishing and leading governance, compliance, and assurance activities.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple government regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or specialist area (desirable).

This is a permanent full-time role, and you will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary.

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
