About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Strategy Analyst to join our Group Capital Strategy & Ratings team at QBE Insurance Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our global capital strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the multi-year Group strategic capital plan, working closely with Group and Divisional teams to conduct forecasts and planning in relation to regulatory capital metrics, balance sheet, and dividends.
  • Conduct financial modeling to assess the impact of strategic initiatives on key Group metrics, including debt and equity capital markets issuances, strategic reinsurance transactions, investment portfolio decisions, and other non-standard corporate transactions.
  • Support engagement with credit rating agencies, including the preparation of presentation materials and financial analysis of rating agency metrics, and manage the preparation of key rating agency capital models, both actual and forecast.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating submissions to the Group Board and executive management, including the CFO Board reports.
Requirements
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the APRA regulatory capital framework and/or equivalents in other jurisdictions, for general insurers.
  • Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet understanding for a general insurer.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, coupled with an ability to clearly convey the rationale and impacts of strategic initiatives.
  • A good understanding of global financial market and economic conditions, given the breadth of the geographic footprint.
  • Demonstrated expertise within the insurance industry is advantageous.
