Job Title: Water Infrastructure Specialist

The role is focused on the maintenance and repair of water infrastructure assets.

This position involves leading a team in the effective maintenance of water infrastructure assets. It requires organisational skills to manage materials and equipment, as well as technical expertise to repair and maintain water infrastructure assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of water infrastructure assets, ensuring all work meets council standards and specifications.
  • Planning daily workflow, making onsite decisions for site safety and efficiency, and organising staff requirements.
  • Recording and documenting work carried out, including job data entry into council's corporate asset management system.
  • Complying with relevant codes of practice, including code of conduct and corporate values.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment, identifying risks and controlling them, and ensuring crew compliance with SWMS and SWPs.
  • Driving and operating council fleet vehicles, large and small plant and machinery (if licensed).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Plumbing trade qualification and current plumber's license with endorsement for backflow prevention testing.
  • Proven experience leading teams in high-traffic environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of council technical specifications and asset management practices.
  • Strong track record of promoting and managing on-site safety.
  • NSW C-class driver's license (MR license to be obtained within 6 months).
