Firefighter Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Firefighter. As a firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergencies and performing various duties within the community.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work from their local fire station, undertaking a range of duties including community safety work, attending fires and other emergencies, and collaborating with other emergency services. You will also receive training on an ongoing basis to develop your skills in firefighting and rescue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency calls and attend fires and other incidents.
  • Conduct community safety work and provide education and advice to the public.
  • Collaborate with other emergency services and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A valid NSW driver's licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the fire station.

Training and Development:

Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided to ensure you have the necessary skills to perform your role effectively. This includes training in basic life support, rope work, power tool use, and community engagement skills.

Availability and Attendance:

  • At least 33% of all calls over a six-month period
  • A minimum of 80% of all calls received by the brigade during the compulsory availability in any four-week period
  • No less than 75% drill attendance
