Position Overview
Monash University is on the lookout for an Indigenous Employment Strategy Partner to spearhead our initiatives aimed at enhancing Indigenous employment outcomes.
This essential position entails working closely with senior management, supervisors, and HR Business Partners to craft and execute innovative approaches that promote the retention, growth, engagement, and career advancement of Indigenous employees. In this capacity, you will offer expert guidance to assist HR teams, Indigenous staff, and leadership in navigating Indigenous employment issues.
Eligibility Notice: Only Indigenous Australians are invited to apply for this role, as it falls under the Special Measure Provision, Section of the Equal Opportunity Act 2011 (Vic).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement initiatives from the Reconciliation Action Plan to enhance employment prospects for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander personnel.
- Drive strategic transformation initiatives and assessments to bolster professional development, career progression, and retention of Indigenous employees, including the coordination of the Indigenous Staff Network.
- Provide expert advice and support to leadership on Indigenous employment issues to ensure effective workforce management practices.
- Enhance the capabilities of the Monash workforce to execute Indigenous employment initiatives and strategies.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in engaging with and supporting Indigenous talent, including collaboration with Indigenous communities.
- Demonstrated HR expertise with a successful history of implementing talent management strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Strong generalist HR skills, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.
- Exceptional consulting and relationship management abilities, with a knack for building strategic partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders.
