Ambulance Transport Attendant Role Overview

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment providing high-quality patient care and treatment during patient transport.

The Ambulance Transport Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining positive working relationships with clients while ensuring a safe and comfortable transportation experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and intervene as required.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Work independently and make sound judgments within established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective collaboration with team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with RFDS MPC Policies, procedures, and Non-Emergency Patient Transport Regulations to ensure best practices are implemented.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Hold a qualification as an Ambulance Transport Attendant, Ambulance Officer, Ambulance Paramedic, or Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Recent graduates from the Diploma of Paramedical Science or Bachelor level education must have completed 400 supervised, clinical on-road placement hours with logbook evidence in accordance with NEPT guidelines.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License (mandatory) and ability to drive in city and rural traffic conditions.
  • Experience in non-emergency patient transport sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Satisfactory National Police Check completed within the last 6 months.
  • Working With Children Check.

Additional Information:

Please note that this role requires a satisfactory National Police Check and Working With Children Check. You must also hold a current Victorian Driver's License. Recent graduates may be eligible for additional support and training.
